Defensive Player of the Week

The Defensive Player of the Week recipient is Tyler Huenemann. Although Huenemann did not have the most tackles on the team he did have multiple sacks including a pivotal sack that caused a turnover on downs. Huenemann recorded 12 total tackles (8 solo). Throughout the first half the Oilers defense looked to be back to form allowing only 16 points. However after the 1st half Mount Pleasant couldn't do much against Lapeer as they scored an additional 36 points. As a team the oilers recorded 116 tackles (54 solo & 62 asst). Although the game did not go the way the oilers hoped, this team shows that they will fight till the very end.
